How to Care for Your Products

MEZUZAH

Polishing your acrylic pieces from time to time is the best way to recapture their original shine and remove fine scratches that are an inevitable part of daily life at home. When cleaning your mezuzah, we recommend using a suede-style chamois polishing cloth and/or a non-abrasive paper towel and a cleaning fluid that is suitable for acrylics, as specified on the label. And please be careful: using any products containing ammonia, acetone or lactic acid will permanently damage the acrylic.

CHALLAH BOARD

A Note on Acrylic:

Acrylic is a beautiful yet delicate material that may be prone to scratches. Daily use will result in minor wear and tear.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DAILY USE

  • Use the small bowl in the upper left corner for salt, honey, olive oil or whatever you prefer to pair with your bread, cheese or snack.
  • We highly recommend that you only use the included acrylic knife. Using other knives or metal utensils on the board may leave scratches.
  • Do not put your board in the microwave, dishwasher or oven.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Easy Clean

Hand wash only with lukewarm water, mild detergent, and the softer side of a non-abrasive sponge or microfiber cloth.

  • Using soapy water with your sponge or microfiber cloth, clean the surface of your board. After wetting the cloth, be sure to lightly blot the surface, rather than applying significant pressure as you wipe. Using too much pressure may actually create more scratches.
  • Let your board air dry on a drying rack or over a dry towel.
  • Next, use a dry cloth to buff your board. Buffing or polishing the acrylic surface reduces the potential for future marks. If there are any remaining streaks, rewet the cloth and dry again.
  • DO NOT USE paper towels or ammonia-based cleaning products.

Paper towels are ineffective in removing scratches and may actually cause more. Ammonia-based products like Windex ® or other glass cleaners contain harmful chemicals that will damage the surface of your challah board, leaving it cloudy in appearance.
